The Sound - Shock Of Daylight (1984) & Heads And Hearts (1985) (CD1996)

Oto ciąg dalszy historii pod tytułem The Sound. Podwójna płyta wydana przez Renascent w 1996 roku zawiera dwa mini LP wydane w 1984 i 1985 roku. Muzycznie album utrzymany w stylu poprzednich produkcji firmowanych przez zespół The Sound.
Kilka recenzji tego albumu znalezione w sieci:

"Shock of Daylight was a Six Track Mini-album, and the Band's First Release on the Newly Formed Statik Label (Coincidentally the Same Name as a Track on Propaganda !) Heads and Hearts Followed it - a Full Length Album with Artwork by Vaughan Oliver of 4ad and Production by Wally Brill. Includes a Couple of Extra Tracks - They were the B-sides of the 12 Inch Version of the One Thousand Reasons Single".

"How a song like "New Way of Life" never made it into the pop charts is a mystery. THE SOUND traded having a 'sound' all of their own for a more polished pop approach on these releases and the result is an album that is every bit as good as most "Breakfast Club" pop. While I prefer their early works, this twofer fits well next to anything released in the mid 80's by Simple Minds, Japan, and Talk Talk".

"The comp of "Heads and Hearts" and "Shock of Daylight" is one of the best CDs I've bought. This was a period when the band were emerging from the English 'post-punk' gloom sound, sounding invigorated and fuller than before. The result is more comercial than "From the Lion's Mouth" (which is a little on the gloomy side for me) but still engaging and challenging. "Shock of Daylight" is absolutly flawless, with tunes like "Longest Day' sounding like a cross between Big Country. Simple Minds, and A Flock of Seagulls."Heads and Hearts" has a couple of filler tracks but for the most part is exceptional as well, with "Total Recall" being one of the most beautiful rock songs I've ever heard. Adrian Borland is also one of the strongest lyricists I have come across. A great album. They may have not been as consistant as U2, but I think this disc beats anything U2 ever released . . .I'm dead serious".

"Renascent coupled 1984's excellent Shock of Daylight EP with 1985's equally delightful Heads and Hearts, adding a couple bonus tracks -- "Blood and Poison" and "Steel Your Air," which were the b-sides of the "One Thousand Reasons" 12" single. Digitally remastered with spectacular, vibrant sound. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide"

NUN - Sunlight (bonus tracks) + extras

NUN has been Poland's most beloved electro pop artists for a long time. The band has performed at a large number of shows together with bands such as Client and Psyche throughout Poland, as well as in Germany. The band has also appeared at a number of compilations released by both smaller and major record labels. The group was founded in year 2000 by Magdalena Kaspryszyn and Olaf Karbowiak, currently living in Oleśnica in Poland. The name NUN was taken from the Egyptian mythology where Nun was a primal god.

NUN's music is dance friendly electronic pop that with its female vocals and electroclash influences resembles bands like Client and Ladytron but is more tempo driven and has stronger pop melodies. Since the band signed with the Swedish electro pop label Substream in 2005 the many fans have been waiting for the debut album. 'Sunlight' was produced by the Frenchman Peter Rainman and was finished in the spring of 2006 for release in the late summer of 2006. To get in touch with Substream, visit www.substream.se. NUN released a digital debut single 'Hope' from the album in March 2006, and the single has been more than well received by the press and the public. It was #4 on the German electronic Web Charts, and #1 at the Russian equivalent for almost a month. The band is booked to the biggest Swedish electro/pop festival Arvikafestivalen in July 2006 together with bands such as Franz Ferdinand and Covenant.

NUN - This Is Electro Pop (2003)

W skład zespołu NUN wchodzą Magda Kaspryszyn (śpiew, klawisze, kompozycje) i Olaf Karbowiak (generowanie dźwieku, sampling, kompozycje). Zespół został założony w 2000 roku, a w rok później nagrali demo "This Is Electro Pop" zawierające 14 piosenek w stylu electro clash z wpływami new romantic i synth popu.

Pół roku później utwory "Stop!" i “I Don`t Know How” pojawiły sie równiez na scieżce dźwiekowej thrillera science-fiction pt."Arche" w reżyserii Grzegorza Auguścika z Robertem Gonerą w roli głównej. W tym samaym czasie w wyniku kooperacji z niemieckimi DJ-ami i producentami (m.in. Falk Berger, Steve`n King) powstało wiele ciekawych remiksów utworów NUN. W październiku 2003 roku portret zespołu pojawił się w niemieckim magazynie muzycznym SYNTHETICS poświęconym muzyce synth pop i electro . Był to pierwszy poważny artykuł poświęcony pierwszemu materiałowi demo.

Wiosną 2004 roku zakończyli prace nad nowym brzmieniem co znalazło odzwierciedlenie w nowym materiale przygotowywanym na drugi album demo "This Is Electro Pop 2". Składał sie on z 12 częściowo juz znanych a częsciowo całkowicie nowych utworów, które zostały entuzjastycznie przyjęte recenzjami w takich ważnych polskich magazynach muzycznych jak Life, Independent, Alternative Pop i w wielu innych włączając w to obszerny artykuł w jednym z najpowazniejszych polskich dzienników - Gazecie Wyborczej.
