A Fade To Grey remix CD which was released in 1993 to promote the compilation album with the same title, becoming a modest Top 40 hit.

Devenir gris
Devenir gris

One man on a lonely platform
One case sitting by his side
Two eyes staring cold and silent
Show fear as he turns to hide

Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)

Un homme dans une gare isolee
Une valise a ses cote
Des yeux fixes et froids
Montre de la peur lorsqu'il
Se tourne pour se cacher

Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)

Sent la pluie comme un ete Anglais
Entends les notes d'une chanson lointaine
Sortant de derriere d'un poster
Esperant que la vie ne fut aussi longue

Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)

Feel the rain like an English summer
Hear the notes from a distant song
Stepping out from a back shop poster
Wishing life wouldn't be so long

Devenir gris

Aah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Devenir gris

Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Devenir gris

Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Devenir gris

Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey

The Cars - Drive (cover versions)

who's gonna tell you when
it's too late
who's gonna tell you things
aren't so great
you can't go on
thinking nothing's wrong
who's gonna drive you home tonight

who's gonna pick you up
when you fall
who's gonna hang it up
when you call
who's gonna pay attention
to your dreams
who's gonna plug their ears
when you scream

you can't go on
thinking nothing's wrong
who's gonna drive you home tonight
who's gonna hold you down
when you shake
who's gonna come around
when you break

"Drive" is a 1984 song by The Cars, the third single from the band's Heartbeat City album and their biggest international hit. It was written by Ric Ocasek, and produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange and The Cars. Lead vocals were by Cars' bassist Benjamin Orr.
"Drive" was The Cars' highest charting single in the United States, peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. On the Adult Contemporary chart, the song went all the way to #1. It also got to #5 in the UK singles chart, becoming their second biggest UK hit, then was re-released in the UK in 1985 (after the Live Aid performance at JFK Stadium), this time charting at #4. The song was also a big hit in what was West Germany, reaching #4, and in Canada, reaching #6. In addition, it was famously used as part of the Live Aid concert in 1985, as the background music to a montage of clips showing poverty-stricken Africa. Bob Geldof later claimed that phone calls to the appeal switchboards escalated dramatically during the song.

The music video for the song stars, besides Ocasek and Orr, Czech-born supermodel Paulina Porizkova, who later married Ocasek. The video was directed by actor Timothy Hutton.

A cover by Ziggy Marley featured in the film "50 First Dates" (2004). The song also appears in the film "Transformers" (2007). The band Deftones covered this song on the album 'Saturday Night Wrist'.
Deftones' cover version appeared on the trailer of the 2009 remake "The Stepfather". The song was also covered in 2000 by the New Zealand group, Strawpeople, featuring the vocalist Bic Runga. A cover by the Australian band, The Paradise Motel (from "Flight Paths" album), appeared in the film "He Died with a Felafel in His Hand". In 2006 the Portuguese band (singing in English) Blind Zero featured this 80's classic, too. Scorpions present a live version of the song from "Acoustica" album. Finally, Drive was covered on the Double You album "We All Need Love." The compilation was put together for my own purposes :)

OMD - Flip...The Other Side Of OMD (1988)

Brytyjski, synth-popowy zespół Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, w skrócie nazywany OMD, powstał w 1979 roku w Wirral. Grupę, która wyrosła na gruzach formacji The Id, założyli Andy McCluskey (wokal, gitara basowa) i Paul Humphreys (instrumenty elektroniczne).

Pierwsze dwa albumy zespołu, "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark" i "Organisation", ukazały się już 1980 roku. Szczyt popularności grupa osiągnęła w 1981 roku wraz z wydaniem krążka "Architecture & Morality", który zawierał przebojowe single "Joan of Arc" i "Maid of Orleans". Do 1988 roku ukazały się jeszcze cztery płyty ("Dazzle Ships", "Junk Culture", "Crush" i "The Pacific Age"), choć nie pozostały bez echa, to nie powtórzyły sukcesu "Architecture & Morality".

W roku 1988 zespół OMD rozpadł się, a właściwie powstały dwa zespoły. Humpreys, Cooper i Holmes odeszli do The Listening Pool, natomiast McCluskey zebrał nowych muzyków z Liverpoolu i kontynuował działalność pod szyldem OMD. Zanim nowe wcielenie grupy rozpadło się w 1996 roku, muzycy nagrali trzy albumy i wylansowali dwa przeboje - "Sailing on the Seven Seas" i "Pandora's Box".

Classix Nouveaux - Classix Nouveaux (1980)

Classix Nouveaux were a 1980s new wave band from England.Classix had number one hits in Poland, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Israel, Iceland and other countries. In the UK Singles Chart they had various Top 50 hits but only a Top20 with "Is It A Dream" - a Number 11 hit record.
The break up of X-Ray Spex triggered an advertisement to be placed in Melody Maker, searching for a new lead singer. Sal Solo (formerly with The News) answered the advertisement. Jak Airport and B. P. Hurding left X-Ray Spex to form Classix Nouveaux with Mik Sweeney and Sal Solo. Their first gig was on 25 August 1979 at Camden Palace. With publicity growing for the band, their dramatic and heavily made up image helped quickly associate them with the New Romantic movement, alongside bands like Japan and Ultravox. In 1980 the band recorded a four track session for Capital Radio and one track, Robots Dance, was picked up and played regularly by DJ Nicky Horne. This got the interest of A&R at United Artists, but as negotiations dragged on Classix decided to release the track as their debut single studio recording single, on their own ESP label. "Robots Dance" was released on 29 August and, when negotiations with UA were finalised, by EMI. They also performed for the first time on television on Thames TV in London. "Robots Dance" spent 11 weeks on the indie charts, reaching number 22, and became a popular alternative dance floor track. The groups second single "Nasty Little Green Men" followed on 10 November 1980. (~~internet)

Belouis Some - Belouis Some (1987)

Belouis Some (born Neville Keighley, 12 December 1959), is a British new wave musician. He had a few minor hits in the 1980s with "Some People", "Round and Round", (produced by Bernard Edwards, and which appeared on the soundtrack album to the film Pretty in Pink), plus "Imagination", which reached #17 on the UK Singles Chart and which can be heard in the movies Ghost Chase and The Business. "Some People" and "Imagination" also charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.

Born Neville Keighley, Some released his first LP, "Some People", in 1985. The title track was a club hit. Although Some's contribution to the Pretty in Pink soundtrack, "Round, Round", did not penetrate the mainstream, it introduced him to an audience outside of discothèques. Produced by Bernard Edwards, "Round, Round" included an electric guitar rock sound while also featuring a dance groove. "Imagination," a song from "Some People", was reissued in 1986, peaking at number 17 on the U.K. pop charts. Both "Some People" and "Imagination" were remixed several times. In 1986 he appeared at Knebworth at the bottom of a bill including Queen, Big Country, and Status Quo, where audience members threw plastic bottles at him. In 1987, Some recorded his self-titled second album, but it failed to duplicate the success of his debut. Some then disappeared from the music scene, until 1993 when he released "Living Your Life" with a techno sound. He has since made sporadic appearances under the alternate pseudonym Belouis Many.
